Passenger Segregation
Using card readers, airports and airlines can separate arriving and departing passengers. One reader can only be in Passenger mode (for high throughput) while the other can only be in Staff mode (for individual entry). This allows people to pass freely through departure and arrival gates while maintaining security and creating security airlocks across the restricted zone line.
Biometrics
We have numerous fingerprint card readers that can smoothly interact with third-party biometric systems like Iris Scan. Insight face recognition access control systems with Johnson Controls' artificial intelligence and deep learning algorithms are designed to be frictionless and inconspicuous.
Air-bridge monitoring
Air-bridge monitoring ensures that only authorized and trained persons can utilize them. Each air bridge has card readers that require a valid card to operate. The system delivers data for enhanced reporting and displays each air bridge's status graphically. The method reduces air bridge maintenance expenditures such as malfunctions and airline charges.
Vehicle Management
Vehicles within the airport might be monitored to ensure only permitted passengers, e.g. cars and buses, can pass a control point. A vehicle management solution may monitor and report on vehicle usage trends, as well as determine when maximum management module levels are reached.
Check-in desk enabling
Shared check-in desks can be controlled and reported on. By swiping a valid card, an operator can enable or disable check-in desks or luggage carousels. The system can generate a report on check-in desk usage that may be submitted to the finance system to bill airlines.
Reducing carbon footprints
Airports have employed solutions to promote environmental awareness. For example, the vehicle sharing control project tracks personnel who carpool and rewards them.
