Solution Differentiators

Access Control

Access Control and Intrusion Integrations

Johnson Controls’ video surveillance solutions integrate seamlessly with access control and intrusion systems, whether they’re manufactured by Johnson Controls or by other leading security companies. With effortless integration to other manufacturers’ solutions, businesses can save time and money by not needing to replace their existing systems.

Fire Alarm

Open Platform for 3rd Party Integrations

Johnson Controls’ open architecture allows our video surveillance solutions to work with ample 3rd party technologies. Such technologies include fire detection and suppression, building management, gunshot detection, and more.

Cloud technology

Cloud Video and Storage Options

Cloud video surveillance provides companies the ability to store video in the cloud and limits the hardware necessary on-site. It’s easily scalable and can be purchased through a SaaS model for convenience.

Advanced Analytics

Advanced Analytics

Today’s surveillance systems require advanced analytics such as AI-driven information, comprehensive reports, and impressive recall features for viewing video footage. Johnson Controls provides all of the above through powerful features such as object detection, facial recognition, mapping options, virtual guard tours, and many more. Such features are built-in to our solutions, rather than additional add-ons that companies have to purchase.

Scalable & Flexible Solutions

Scalable and Flexible Solutions

Our video surveillance solutions are designed to grow with you as your business does. From one camera to a thousand cameras, Johnson Controls provides you with the flexibility to migrate to multiple sites, as well as mix and match solutions based on the existing cameras in place. Such flexibility saves time and money since you don’t have to ‘rip and replace’ current cameras.

Cyber Threat Mitigation

Video Surveillance Components

IP Cameras

IP surveillance cameras receive and send video footage via an IP network. They come in a variety of makes and models, ranging from domes and bullets, to fisheyes and PTZs, dependent on the space they’re needed for. Johnson Controls offers intelligent cameras with built-in advanced analytics and redundancy capabilities if network connection is lost.
Video Recorders

NVRs or Cloud Recording

Network Video Recorders (NVRs) are computer systems that receive IP camera streams via a local network to both record and store video data. One NVR can work with one camera to 128 cameras, and operates 24/7. Instead of NVRs, companies can leverage cloud recording and remove the need for NVRs on-site.

Video Management Software

Video management software (VMS) consolidates different pieces of a video surveillance system into a single interface where you can retrieve and view video. With VMS, you can monitor and export video footage, build reports, and use features such as forensic search to look up specific information across multiple locations.

“Using [Johnson Controls] simplifies the management of our large camera network for our loss prevention and security staff.”

-- Greg Drivas, Director of Loss Prevention, Skechers USA

Dana Farber

“[Johnson Controls'] approach allowed the institute to extend the life of our existing [technologies]. Rather than rip and replace, we were able to focus our new investments on state of the art IP technology as part of the expansion. This let us strategically add IP cameras in additional key areas and save money.”

-- Ralp Nerette, Security Manager, Dana Farber Cancer Institute

Penn State

“The [Johnson Controls] system makes it easy to organize the video information in a way that makes sense to the business…for example, users know that these are my 30 cameras, but they don't need to know to which specific NVRs are providing the video.”

-- Sean Costella , Assistant Director of Network and Support Operations, Penn State University
